Conducts activities to provide a safe and secure environment for hospital patients, visitors, and employees. Interfaces with visitors, staff, physicians, patients, and family members on a regular basis. Ensures security protocols support hospital operations effectively.

Works in a dynamic hospital setting interacting with diverse groups including patients and medical staff. Contributes to a secure atmosphere amid ongoing hospital expansion. Collaborates with teams to maintain safety standards across facilities.

Requirements

  • Six months hospital experience or Security/Safety, Fire, Police, Military Police, Ambulance/EMT, or similar occupation; one year of college may substitute
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge and application of Security, Safety, or Law Enforcement techniques and procedures
  • Possess excellent public relation/customer service skills, and good written and oral communication skills
  • Possess Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Certification or complete within three months of employment
  • Successfully complete BLS-Healthcare Provider Certification course upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Conduct activities to provide a safe and secure environment for hospital patients, visitors, and employees
  • Interface with visitors, staff, physicians, patients, and family members
  • Perform security patrols throughout hospital premises
  • Monitor access to hospital areas and entrances
  • Respond to security incidents and emergencies
  • Apply de-escalation techniques for aggressive behavior
  • Document security events and prepare reports
