About this role

We are recruiting a highly competent and professional General Purpose Dog Handler to join our Patrol and Response Team. You will carry out targeted and responsive patrols, including lock-up duties, proactively patrolling estates, supporting lone workers, and responding to alarm events. Patrol and Response Officers are key frontline team members reporting to the Regional Operations Officer.

You will typically be vehicle-based, deploying from Basingstoke or Southampton throughout a 10-hour shift. Proactively patrol assigned premises internally and externally using your general-purpose patrol dog as appropriate. Promptly challenge trespassers, investigate suspicious activity, and maintain detailed incident records.

Requirements

  • Frontline SIA licence in Security Guarding, Door Supervision or Close Protection
  • NASDU Certification, or equivalent
  • Full Driving Licence with no more than 3 penalty points
  • First Aid at Work Qualification
  • Proven experience as a security officer
  • Familiarity and competence in report writing
  • Ability to work confidently alone or as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Proactively patrol assigned premises, internally and externally, using general-purpose patrol dog as appropriate
  • Lock up and alarm client's premises ensuring all exits, doors, and windows are secured
  • Promptly challenge trespassers and facilitate their safe removal, reporting on incident reports
  • Proactively respond to support colleagues and react to observed threats or alarm activations
  • Investigate suspicious activity, persons, and vehicles, sharing information with colleagues, management, and police as appropriate
  • Maintain appropriate records and detailed accounts of incidents
  • Challenge, apprehend, detain, and where appropriate arrest suspects, liaising with police
