The Site Security Manager directs all functional security programs related to 49 CFR Part 1542 for airport functions.

The Manager defines and oversees security operations through subordinate Supervisors, directing the security workforce. This includes evaluating programs for mission accomplishment, procedural compliance, and technical competence. Plans and organizes efficient resource use through development and analysis of employee work schedules.

Performs full-range administrative and technical supervision, assigning work, assessing performance, approving leave, and making selections. Hears and resolves employee complaints, takes disciplinary action, and identifies training needs. Interacts frequently within the airport community including airport authority, airlines, TSA, law enforcement, and local officials.

Responds to a complex working environment dealing with security management, labor relations, regulatory agencies, and airline personnel. Assists in developing budgets, directs major program segments, and improves quality and service performance. Enhances customer-focused security culture using lean operational techniques.

Requirements

  • US citizen, U.S. National or Lawful Permanent Resident
  • Bachelor’s degree in security or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Within the past five years, experience managing a security or screening operation at a 49 CFR Part 1542 regulated airport or similar facility
  • Aviation, law enforcement or security operations experience highly desirable
  • Professional knowledge of the aviation industry, preferably 49 CFR Part 1542 experience
  • Skills necessary to develop and implement staffing plans
  • Proven ability in realizing balance sheet and bottom-line results
  • Strong oral and written interpersonal communications skills

Responsibilities
