About this role

As a Building Security Guard at The Oncenter, you will maintain a safe and secure environment for team members and guests, with customer service as your top priority. Enforce security measures, deter incidents, and respond to concerns during operations. This flexible, as-needed role has no set schedule, with shifts based on availability.

Monitor premises using surveillance systems, conduct foot patrols, and identify potential threats proactively. Greet guests courteously, provide directions, verify credentials, and enforce access controls. Handle phone calls, manage deliveries, oversee lost and found, and respond to fire alarms promptly.

Requirements

NYS Security Guard License required
Ability to perform essential duties with energy and enthusiasm
Customer service focus in interactions with guests
Capacity for foot patrols and physical observation of activities
Professional handling of communications and notifications
Adherence to department dress code and approachable demeanor
Participation in ongoing security and emergency training

Responsibilities

Utilize surveillance systems to monitor premises and identify potential security threats
Communicate, greet, and offer information or directions to guests courteously
Conduct foot patrols throughout facilities and proactively prevent intrusions
Verify credentials and enforce access control measures for authorized personnel
Handle phone calls professionally and notify relevant individuals
Conduct incident investigations and compile accurate incident reports
Receive, document, track, and manage deliveries
Respond promptly to fire alarm systems and notify authorities
