About this role

This position is responsible for the shift supervision and monitoring of security personnel engaged in providing a secure environment. Duties include daily operations of security and assisting in coordination of physical security systems during assigned shifts. The role ensures integrity and proper functioning of all systems.

Assists in setup of weekly guard schedule, monitors overtime assignment, and initiates changes for unscheduled absences. Supervises subordinates to perform functions effectively, evaluates performance, and investigates campus security incidents preparing reports. Watches for irregularities such as security breaches, hazards, and emergencies.

Quickly identifies potential negative situations, implements countermeasures, and adjusts security posts as needed. Responds to medical emergencies, fire alarms, and directs personnel while acting as Incident Commander until additional resources arrive. Works at Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital committed to exceptional patient care in a supportive environment.

Assists in conducting shift-based drills for readiness including de-escalation, CPI, NCI, physical techniques, use of force, and active shooter. Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years in a security role, law enforcement, or military discipline or equivalent training
  • Preferred: 3 years experience including 2 years supervisory or equivalent
  • Licensure/certification as required by state law
  • Valid state driver's license
  • AHA BLS
